Prologis recognizes and values the rich communities in which we work. We strive to develop lasting relationships and provide meaningful engagement with the people and organizations that support our neighborhoods. 

Since 2018, Prologis has been at the forefront of training and preparing people for long-term careers in the transportation, distribution, and logistics sectors, skills that are at the heart of PDR. Prologis has partnered with Youth Community Developers (YCD) to train and prepare community members for PDR careers right here in the Bayview. With YCD, we have trained 246 individuals, many of whom have found local job placements. 

Prologis is committed to supporting the community and advocating for resources for our customers and neighbors. Our Space for Good program provides temporary rent-free space to help local charitable organizations address short-term needs, such as the San Francisco Food Bank and Cultura y Arte Nativa de las Americas.

As a member of the Market Zone Working Group—a Bayview–Hunters Point organization made up of local PDR business owners, operators and landlords—we advocate for improved conditions in this PDR zone. Through the group’s advocacy, we’ve removed trash, cleaned up graffiti, repaved streets and installed new sidewalks, crosswalks and signage. Currently, Prologis is funding an infrastructure needs assessment and street lighting audit. This work will continue our advocacy for improved conditions for workers and residents.

Today, Prologis has the highest-quality logistics real estate and sets standards to build with sustainable designs and innovative construction techniques. We’ve committed to achieving net-zero emissions in our operations by 2030 and across our value chain by 2040. This meaningful work not only supports our customers in their transition to clean energy and sustainable operations, but also the communities where we are located.
