The winners of the 2019 Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Scholarship for women and underrepresented professionals, provided by NAIOP and Prologis, attended the ICON West 2019 Conference on June 6-7 in Long Beach, CA. The scholarship is designed to attract diverse talent to commercial real estate. The conference offered the opportunity for winners to network with Prologis executives, industry mentors and industrial real estate leaders from across North America.
ICON is the nation’s largest gathering of industrial real estate professionals. The premier event is exclusively focused on the development, operation and expansion of industrial real estate. Attendees were able to hear the big ideas, trends and new technologies in industrial development from the best in the business, and make new professional contacts in the enthusiastic networking environment.
Each of the scholarship recipients also have the opportunity to earn the NAIOP Certificate of Advanced Study in Commercial Real Estate Development at no cost. This comprehensive program is built on core competencies critical to success in the development industry and delivered through courses in the NAIOP Center for Education.
One Prologis executive said, “Diverse teams are better able to serve clients and build stronger companies and, at Prologis, we believe the best workplaces are those where all employees have an equal opportunity to succeed. We are pleased to partner with NAIOP to raise awareness around this critical issue to help to ensure the future strength of our industry and bolster our own company-wide inclusion and diversity initiatives.”
