Prologis hired Patrick Dwire as a maintenance technician in Chicago in 2012. For the prior four years, he worked for one of AMB’s maintenance contractors performing electrical, plumbing, framing and other general maintenance work. This experience helped Patrick develop skills and knowledge, positioning him for a bright future at Prologis.
Patrick is one to raise his hand for new projects. As a consequence, he was involved in a wide range of initiatives, including the launch of a mobile maintenance application, standardizing the appearance of buildings and researching new technology to improve efficiency in departmental operations.
With the encouragement of Prologis management, Patrick decided to finish his college education, taking advantage of Prologis’s tuition reimbursement program. Shortly after graduation, a project manager position opened in Chicago. Thanks to his new degree and extensive background in construction and maintenance of commercial buildings, the job was a perfect fit for Patrick.
Patrick moved from maintenance technician to operations construction manager. He now oversees tenant improvements, make-readies, LED retrofits and special one-off projects for building and property improvements. When asked what he likes best about his role at Prologis, Patrick responded quickly, "The team…both locally and all the way up to senior management.” While recognizing the personal effort he put into his advancement at Prologis, Patrick is also appreciative of all who helped and encouraged him along the way. This supportive crew includes his Chicago management team of Anna Falco, Dan Kovar, Vince Zuppa, Kyle Low and Carter Andrus. “Prologis truly invests and cares about the employees, and it shows,” he added.
Outside of work, Patrick is busy with an 11-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son. He helps his daughter with Girl Scouts, basketball, volleyball and cheerleading. Always looking for a new challenge, Patrick volunteered to coach his son’s T-ball league and set a goal to be the most winning coach in a league that doesn’t keep score.
