Midway between Berlin and Warsaw and an important trade center since the Middle Ages, Poznań is the economic and administrative center of Poland’s Wielkopolska region. With a population of over half a million, it is the fifth-largest metropolitan area in Poland. An economic powerhouse with the second-biggest local economy after Warsaw, Poznań has the highest GDP per capita in Poland, and one of the lowest levels of unemployment.

Poznań’s economy is dominated by the service sector, along with trade, financial services and education. Poznań’s industries include automotive, pharmaceutical and food processing. Demand for logistics is driven in part by the many manufacturers who have a presence in Poznań, including Volkswagen, Bridgestone, Unilever, Mars and GlaxoSmithKline.
A cluster of industrial properties and warehouses have sprung up in and around Poznań. Seven major interregional and international roadways converge in Poznań, including the A2 motorway connecting Germany to Łódź and Warsaw (and soon to Belarus). The Poznań-Franowo railway station, one of the largest freight terminals in Poland, is the site of growing intermodal logistics and distribution operations. The regional Poznań-Ławica Airport serves 2.3 million passengers a year and handles more than 100,700 tons of cargo. And the largest container terminal in Poland operates in nearby Gądki, allowing access to North Sea ports.
Prologis has available warehouses in Poznań and operates industrial property throughout the Poznań region.
