What is a Memorandum of Insurance (MOI)?
A MOI provides online information about Prologis' insurance program. This information includes policy numbers and effective dates, limits, insurer identification and applicable enhancements regarding additional insured, waiver of subrogation and primary and non-contributory per the terms of signed contracts, leases, and/or agreements.
Why is Prologis using the MOI?
The MOI eliminates the time required to manually issue certificates of insurance each year to all customers. This will also increase the efficiency of your operations by providing your company with more timely insurance information at the click of a link.
How do I know if my company is an additional insured under Prologis’ policy(ies), or whether a waiver of subrogation is in place, if our name does not appear on the MOI?
Your contractual agreement with Prologis or its subsidiary is what determines this status. The MOI notes that additional insured and waiver of subrogation are allowed "per the terms of our signed contracts, leases and/or agreements", so all that is needed is for your agreement with Prologis or its subsidiary to say that your company is an additional insured on Prologis’ insurance. This language is similar to that used previously in our certificates of insurance.
What happens to the information at renewal?
Our insurance broker will update the information on the MOI through the MOI web site at the time of policy renewal and any time there is a major change in coverage, term or insurance company
