Prologis was included in the prestigious “Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World” list, advancing in 2014 to number 54, ahead of companies such as Johnson & Johnson, General Electric, and Daimler AG. The Global 100 is recognized as the gold standard in corporate sustainability analysis and consists of the 100 top-performing companies worldwide based on a range of sector-specific sustainability metrics.
“2013 was another outstanding year for our sustainability efforts, and we’re pleased to be recognized by the Global 100 for the sixth consecutive year,” said Steve Campbell, Prologis’ head of environmental, engineering and sustainability. “This honor is a testimony to our commitment to own a global portfolio of energy-efficient facilities that enable our customers to enhance operations and minimize environmental impact.”
Prologis was recognized for our comprehensive approach to corporate responsibility, encompassing three dimensions: environmental stewardship, social responsibility and governance. As the leading global provider of certified sustainable logistics space, Prologis has developed more than 43 million square feet (four million square meters) of facilities meeting green building standards. In addition, the company completed energy efficiency improvements in 60 percent of its global property portfolio and has installed over 100 megawatts of solar panels as part of our commitment to renewable energy.
In other recent sustainability developments, Prologis is also the recipient of NAREIT’s “Leader in the Light” award, received for the last four years. As part of its thought leadership among Real Estate Investment Trusts, Prologis recently hosted the 2014 Leader in the Light Working Forum at our Pier 1 headquarters. The forum provided NAREIT corporate members the opportunity to advance the sustainability conversation and to better understand leading sustainability practices among their peers. Mr. Binkley was interviewed during the forum regarding Prologis’ renewable energy initiative.
Finally, GreenBiz recently released its seventh annual “State of Green Business 2014” report, in which Prologis was recognized as a Natural Capital Efficiency Leader for the Real Estate sector as the only real estate company in the list. The full report can be accessed here.
